SST presents at HFES ASPIRE 2024 International Meeting, Featuring Collaborative AI Research
Spectrum Software Technology (SST), in collaboration with Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC, ZeroTrusted.ai, and Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), is excited to announce its participation in the 68th International Meeting of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) ASPIRE 2024 Conference. This event, set to take place from September 9-13, 2024, is expected to attract nearly 2,000 participants from academia, government, and industry, and will feature over 600 technical presentations focused on advancing innovation and human-system interaction.
SST’s poster presentation, “Harmony Unleashed: The Interplay of Artificial Intelligence and Human Factors,” explores AI’s growing role in improving outcomes in industries such as healthcare, cybersecurity, and government operations. The research covers areas like AI’s application in analyzing qualitative data, observing research sessions, generating survey responses, and using models such as ChatGPT for specific approaches.
This collaborative research highlights the importance of responsible AI deployment, ensuring ethical and societal considerations while enhancing human decision-making.
“We’re thrilled to share this collaborative research at HFES ASPIRE 2024,” said Craig Nelson, VP of Business Strategy at SST. “Our partnerships with Visionary Consulting Partners, ZeroTrusted.ai, and Southwest Research Institute are key to exploring how AI can drive innovation in human factors.”

Department of Veterans Affairs – the Visionary / SST team, wins task order 14 under the $25m IDIQ for Human Factors Services
As a principal Subcontractor to Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC, Spectrum Software Technology, Inc. (SST), under the Veterans Administration IDIQ won Task Order 14 – Modernization of Health Information Technology Systems:
The Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) includes many frameworks that can be applied to a complex adaptive system like modernizing Health Information Technology (HIT) systems. A critical component includes the functional decomposition of the complex system into elements that can be structured in a way to better understand the complexity and diversity of individual user groups’ requirements, in order to optimize to overall system design. The importance of a functional analysis is tethered to the critical business and user requirements, where the decomposition can be used to simplify the design validation and compliance with established functional capabilities. This process creates traceability with functional capabilities and performance criteria and provides clarity to all user groups as to the maturity of the system being transitioned to and the likelihood of successful adoption without complex workarounds that impact enterprise standardization. This information will inform the suitability of system design using simulation methods for human-system performance risks and evaluation of performance that determine the system adequacy and effectiveness.
A key priority for Clinical Informatics and Data Management Office (CIDMO) is the creation of standardized models of care. One element of these models is the processes and workflows required to support and execute care delivery best practices. Once there is a clearly documented understanding of current state workflow, activities can be completed to redesign, improve, grow, and optimize the workflows that are part of the system of practice. Evidenced-based business process reengineering involves the necessary analysis and redesign of core business (e.g., clinical, administrative, etc.) processes/systems to achieve improvements in performance, productivity, safety, and quality.
As one of three companies selected out of a pool of competitors, this momentous win will allow the Visionary | SST Team to continue our commitment to our Nations’ Veterans and their families. [...]

U.S. Army – The Mclane Advanced Technologies / SST team, awarded U.S. Army TC-AIMS II Contract
As a Subcontractor to McLane Advanced Technologies, LLC, (MAT), Spectrum Software Technology, Inc. (SST), was awarded a task order to support the Army’s Transportation Coordinators’ – Automated Information for Movement System II (TC-AIMS II) program, under the U. S. Army’s Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 3 Services (ITES-3S) Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract.
TC-AIMS is used by transportation agents and deploying units of each service and other agencies to automate the processes of planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling deployment, redeployment, and sustainment activities worldwide, in peace as well as during contingencies. TC-AIMS II links all DoD component unit movement and installation transportation office/traffic management office functionality into a consolidated, integrated, easily deployable, transportation management system. MAT’s support of TC-AIMS II includes full life-cycle application services for the system, including operations, maintenance, and technology integration activities.
“We are extremely excited and proud to be providing direct support to a system that manages all aspects of transportation operations for the warfighter,” said Uli Werner, MAT CEO. “Having supported logistics IT programs in the Army for almost 20 years, TC-AIMS is a natural fit within our secure transportation and cloud services portfolio. Our experience supporting Army programs such as PBUSE, TAMIS, and IAVTC, along with our work at the Department of Energy’s Office of Secure Transportation allows us to realize increased efficiencies between DoD system owners and program personnel.”
SST is proud to be on the McLane Advanced Technologies team supporting this effort. [...]
